Preparing students for high school and beyond

TechSMI has received a $100,000 grant from The Jordan Family Foundation to overhaul the school’s technology infrastructure and equipment. This grant is consistent with The Foundation’s goal of promoting the advancement of science and technology, particularly among young girls.

Tiers 1 and 2 included laying the foundation for new equipment by covering the school with a Gigabit backbone through CAT 6 wiring and switches and the installation of enterprise class wireless access points throughout the building. Tiers 1 and 2 equipped the school with World Class data infrastructure.

Tier 3 provides students with a host of new technology equipment, including interactive whiteboards, iPads, laptops, and other educational devices. This grant enables St. Mary’s Institute to offer comprehensive 21st century learning opportunities — a rare find in other elementary and middle schools.
